Postcards from the Edge of the Arctic
SATURDAY JULY 19, 1-3 PM

Join us as we welcome bestselling author, photographer, and storyteller Arielle Lokadóttir for an evening of art, myth, and adventure inspired by her travels in the far north. From solo road trips through Iceland to photographing Arctic foxes in the wild, Arielle shares stories from her recent residency near the Arctic Circle—where weather, wildlife, and wonder shaped both her work and her worldview.
Blending personal narrative, Nordic folklore, and striking visuals, this talk explores the deep connections between grief and growth, art and nature, and the courage it takes to forge an unconventional creative life. Arielle’s journey reminds us that healing can happen in wild places—and that sometimes, the path forward begins far outside our comfort zone.

Tulipomania: Art, Economics, and the Madness of Beauty
Lecture with Art Historian Bonnie Joseph

SATURDAY MARCH 22, 1-3PM
We’ve got something truly fascinating coming up at Pink Arrow Arts – and we’d love for you to join us and art historian Bonnie Joseph for an intriguing lecture, "Tulipomania: Art, Economics, and the Madness of Beauty."
What’s Tulipomania? Picture this: in the 1600s, people in the Netherlands went absolutely wild over tulips. Prices skyrocketed, fortunes were made (and lost), and the world’s first economic bubble was born – all over a flower! It’s a fascinating look at the power of beauty, desire, and the sometimes unpredictable nature of markets. We’ll dive into this historical frenzy and explore how it connects to art, value, and even the way we think about trends today. Whether you’re a history buff, an artist, or just someone who loves a good story, this is going to be a fun and interesting talk to usher in Spring!
